The is the second in a series about a young boy called Harvey Small, who is a pupil at a school for giants, zombies and other non-humans. Having saved the school from the villainous Ring Mistress of the Villainous Circus, all should be well. However, some of the pupils find that they have been trapped by unbreakable contracts and are being dragged away from the school. Harvey and his best friend ‘Walloping’ are sent to try and find a solution. This includes dealing with vampire dentists, tooth fairies and the Stinking Sinking Swamp!
What a riotous, funny roller-coaster of a book. The characters are quirky, brave and loyal to their friends and school. They are willing to take on dangerous challenges, despite being afraid and have some very unusual solutions. This is a fantastic read for KS2,(age 7-11), although some competent KS1 pupils, (age 4-7), will love it as well and it would be a wonderful book to read in class. It can be read without the first book, but that is well worth a read.
