The EA is itself part of a larger ecosystem of related organisations, with whom we work closely on projects and initatives. For example:
- We co-publish the magazine English 4-11 with the United Kingdom Literacy Association (UKLA) and National Association for Teachers of English (NATE) as specialists on literacy and primary education
- We collaborate on events and publications with the National Association for Teachers of English (NATE) on issues relating to their core focus of secondary education
- We work closely with University English and the Institute of English Studies (IES) on a wide range of initiatives including joint events, responses to public consultations, support for English Departments, REF planning, and curriculum reform
- We are partners in the Poetry By Heart consortium, which is funded by a grant from the Department for Education
- We are part of a consortium that delivers the flagship conference English: Shared Futures (E:SF) and satellite events
- The English Association convenes the Common English Forum, which brings together subject associations and learned societies from all areas of the subject and meets regularly with the Department for Education
- We are proud members of the Council for Subject Associations
- We support MTPT Project, the UK’s charity for parent teachers, which works to improve the health of our teacher workforce. We are currently sponsoring 5 fully-funded places on MTPT’s group coaching programme.
