We are a charity with a small core team of staff supported by a huge volunteer effort from our membership. The EA is an independent organisation that does not receive government support, so your membership fee enables us to carry out our work – like hosting events, producing our publications, and campaigning for the subject – by helping to cover our costs.

Write an article for one of our publications

It is our members who make our publications the relevant, cutting-edge resources they are. All our members have the opportunity to contribute to our publications. By writing for one of our journals, pamphlets or book series, you will receive feedback from our expert editorial teams and a direct route to sharing and promoting your work.

Volunteer your time

Our trustees and committee members are responsible for the strategy and governance of the EA, for our events programme and our campaigning work. Most are drawn from within our membership and fellowship, while a few bring expertise from outside the discipline. We are always keen to welcome new members to our Board and committees and we invite you to contact us if you would like to get involved.
