A crucial part of our mission is producing our portfolio of publications. We are aiming to expand the readership of all our publications, and we are looking for some brilliant new colleagues to help us increase our revenue and extend our reach.
These roles aren’t paid, but you will be part of a passionate, committed group of EA members, all leading practitioners in their field, who are dedicated to this important cause.

Primary and Early Years Education publishing specialist
We’re looking for an experienced publisher in primary and early years education to help us increase our revenue and extend our reach.
About the role
You’ll join the Publications Committee, which maintains an overview of the content and professional standards of all EA publications, with responsibility for ensuring editorial standards and financial security, fostering collaborative and supportive links between editors, the Publications Committee, the Board of Trustees, and the Education Committees, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring benefit to EA members and to the wider English community at all levels.
You will attend four short meetings of this Committee each year, all held online; and you’ll attend three two-hour meetings of the Primary and Early Years Education Committee, all held online in the evenings.
Your term of service will be for three years in the first instance.
You will be expected to become a member of the EA for the duration of your term; membership starts at £25 for a year.
About you
You will have direct previous experience of publishing and producing publications for the primary and early years market. You will be able to provide expert, informed feedback on the EA’s publications, based on your knowledge of the publishing landscape.
Secondary and Further Education publishing specialist
We’re looking for an experienced publisher in secondary and further education to help us increase our revenue and extend our reach.
About the role
You’ll join the Publications Committee, which maintains an overview of the content and professional standards of all EA publications, with responsibility for ensuring editorial standards and financial security, fostering collaborative and supportive links between editors, the Publications Committee, the Board of Trustees, and the Education Committees, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring benefit to EA members and to the wider English community at all levels.

Ideally your experience will be in English Studies, but experience of a cognate discipline (for example, History or Philosophy) would also be useful.
Early Career Academic representative
We’re looking for an Early Career Academic to advise on ways to ensure that EA publications are appealing to and supportive of the needs of ECAs.
About the role
You’ll join the Publications Committee, which maintains an overview of the content and professional standards of all EA publications, with responsibility for ensuring editorial standards and financial security, fostering collaborative and supportive links between editors, the Publications Committee, the Board of Trustees, and the Education Committees, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring benefit to EA members and to the wider English community at all levels.

About you
You’ll be an early career academic, 1 – 5 years post-PhD. We are keen to be inclusive of colleagues who are not currently affiliated with an institution, so if you are not currently in an academic role you are still encouraged to apply. You’ll be interested in publishing research, preferably in the field of English Studies. You don’t need to have experience of being published.
