Then creatures are grouped into categories such as Record Setters, Fight or Flight, Stinky Creatures, Super Mums and Amazing Dads, and Transformers. The book also considers some endangered animals and why their existence is under threat. A huge range of animals is covered, including cheetahs, koalas, polar bears, piranhas, the electric eel, octopuses and the painted lady butterfly. A gatefold world map shows the locations of the animals mentioned in the book, and includes lists of Ten Biggest Animals and Longest Animal Migrations. Pages are well designed and there is a good balance of information and illustration. The artwork is engaging and captures the character of the creatures.
A superb introduction to the planet’s wildlife that will inform and inspire. An excellent addition to the Our Amazing World series that will increase awareness and appreciation of the animal world.
