An upbeat book that presents 365 facts that brighten every day of the year. The Founder of The Happy News has the knack of selecting positive pieces of information. The artwork helps create a joyous mood with bright colours and attractive illustrations. Here are some entries that caught my eye:
- A blue wale’s tongue is heavier than an elephant.
- Bowling was first invented in ancient Egypt over 5,000 years ago.
- Ketchup used to be sold as medicine.
- Sea otters use their tummies as plates when they eat.
- Crocodiles can’t stick their tongues out.
- Lobsters communicate with each other by peeing.
- Baby koalas are the size of a 2 pence coin when they are born.
- Elephants can hear better with one foot off the ground.
I was delighted to read the entry for my birthday – a group of ladybirds is called a loveliness.
Informative and uplifting, the facts are thought-provoking and can inspire further research. An excellent addition to any classroom, home or library.
